Police officers got more than they bargained for when they were called by a man who reported that his car was hit by another driver, a DUI suspect. The man driving the car that hit the caller abandoned his automobile and ran off. Deputies eventually found 28-year-old Brandon Flynn and put him in one of their patrol cars as they began a crash investigation. That is where things got a bit out of control according to a story on the Sarasota Herald-Tribune’s website.
Officers in Charlotte County suspected DUI and began to test Flynn when he threatened to kill one of the officer’s families. He was put back into a patrol car and while he was being driven to jail he kicked out the rear window of the car. Flynn then escaped out of the window before a motorist stopped him until deputies arrived. He has been charged with three counts of DUI with property damage, one count of DUI and another count of threatening a public servant.
