A self-described cowboy who was in jail for shooting a teenager in a 1988 road rage incident could be heading back to jail following what the Sarasota Herald Tribune is reporting is the man’s third DUI arrest since his release from prison in 1996. Wade Albritton served seven of his 14 year prison term for shooting at a car and killing one of the passengers. He was released a put on 10 years probation. This last DUI arrest may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and sends the man back to jail.
According to the Herald Tribune website Albritton was arrested for DUI in 1999 and at that time his wife claimed it was his second such arrest since getting out of jail. He was then arrested for gun possession by a felon and sent back to jail for two more years. He was released in 2008 and had not been arrested again until the DUI charge earlier this week. He was also charged with violation of probation.
