According to TBO.com Robert Cooper II of Riverview, Florida has been charged with DUI for a July traffic accident that left a motorcyclist dead. Cooper was driving in Pinellas County on July 4 when his car went over the center median, hit a sign post and then continued into eastbound traffic, according to the FHP. At that point Phillip Newcomb hit the front of Cooper’s car with his motorcycle and died due to his injuries.
Cooper, 31-years-old, was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix at the time he collided with Newcomb’s motorcycle. According to the article, Newcomb was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The accident took place on 54th Avenue North at 11:20 p.m.
