Many times lives are altered by what seem to be the simpilest of decisions. Why get behind the wheel when you are drunk rather than call a cab or get somebody who is sober to drive you home? Erika Selman is going to pay for her bad decision as she pled no contest to charges of DUI manslaughter, DUI with property damage and resiting an officer in a Florida court. The 23-year-old will spend 15 years in prison for killing Christopher Maloney while driving drunk.
Two lives were ruined earlier this year when Selman made the decision to drive drunk and now the 23-year-old will spend nearly as many years inside a prison as she did up until this point in her life outside of jail. Circuit judge Michael Hutchenson also sentenced the young woman to pay more than $7,000 in fines and court costs.
