William Edward Storey has been charged with DUI manslaughter and booked into Pinellas County Jail according to Jamal Thalji’s story on TampaBay.com. The charges stem from an early morning car accident in August. Storey’s Mercedes rear ended a pick-up truck driven by Daniel Harrell as the two vehicles exited the Howard Frankland Bridge. Harrell was ejected from his truck and died at the scene. Storey had his blood drawn at the scene of the accident and it registered as high as 0.171, more than twice the legal limit. According to reports witnesses at the scene heard Storey on his cell phone say “I think I killed someone”.
Storey is 39-years-old and resides in Kenneth City. He was driving at 3:20 a.m. on August 23 when he was exiting onto I-275 from the bridge and collided with 22-year-old Harrell. Harrell’s pick-up overturned and he was thrown from the truck. There were two other people in the truck but neither suffered major injuries.
