Shoppers at a local New Port Richey Target store noticed 59-year-old George Burnosky seemed intoxicated and when he left the store to get behind the wheel of his car people at the store alerted the police to a possible drunk driver. When Pasco County deputies arrived on the scene the Pasco man was asleep at the wheel with the engine running. After discovering an open bottle of Bacardi in his SUV, he was arrested on DUI charges.
Burnosky was found in the middle lane of the parking lot outside Target sound asleep and with what deputies thought were pink pills in and on his mouth according to a story on TBO.com. While the pills turned out to be breath mints, Burnosky admitted to drinking four rum and cokes and he was also on medication for his cholesterol. While being transported to Community Hospital, he kicked and swung at the paramedics which led to another charge of assault on emergency personnel.
