A St. Petersburg woman won’t be popular among neighbors after driving her SUV into a near-by house. Gail Ann Kay has been charged with DUI and leaving the scene of an accident after she crashed her 2008 Jeep SUV into a neighbor’s home leaving a four-foot hole in a Snell Island home worth nearly $300,000.
The accident took place just after 9:30 p.m. on December 2. Kay drove through a house wall and then tried to get away but a witness called police and it wasn’t long before the 54-year-old was in custody. Kay refused to perform field sobriety exercises or take a breathalyzer. Police said the woman had bloodshot and watery eyes and slurred speech.
