Marion County deputies have arrested a man on DUI charges after they found him asleep at the wheel of his car. Antonin Kanka reportedly told police he had taken Oxycodone and sleeping pills as reported on the website of WFTV. Deputies claim Kanka failed field sobriety tests at the scene of the arrest and once again at the jail.
Deputies responded to a call of an erratic driver Friday evening and that is when they discovered Kanka asleep behind the wheel of his car at an intersection. The 56-year-old allegedly slept through several light cycles.
