The Sarasota DUI lawyer representing former Braden River High School football coach Josh Hunter on his DUI manslaughter charge has asked the judge in the case to let jurors visit the scene of the accident. The single-car crash that took the life of Doug Garrity took place near Nokomis on an I-75 on-ramp. Hunter’s DUI lawyer wants jurors to get the true nature of the roadway.
That wasn’t the only motion filed by the Sarasota criminal defense attorney. Hunter’s lawyer has also asked the judge exclude any photos or references to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper’s holding bottles of Michelob Ultra found near the scene after the crash. Hunter’s blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.21 after the crash.
