A DNA swab may link an Oldsmar woman to a Tampa DUI accident that killed a motorcyclist according to a story on TBO.com. The drunk driving accident that took the life of 63-year-old Johnnie Miller has not led to any criminal charges yet but DUI manslaughter charges could be filed based on the details in the story.
A Pinellas judge granted the Florida Highway Patrol permission to get a DNA swab from the alleged drunk driver, which they FHP will then try to match to DNA taken from the airbag of the Honda Accord involved in the accident. That DNA match would put Kathryn Shade behind the wheel of the car that killed the motorcyclist. Police already have her blood-alcohol level at 0.223 and 0.222 but requested the DNA as a means to confirm she was the driver that killed Miller.
