Hi, I’m Steve Higgins, a criminal defense attorney focusing my practice on DUI defense here in Hillsborough County. I want to take a couple of minutes and talk to you about the recent charge that you or a family member may be facing. It’s a difficult time and I can recognize that, and I can appreciate that. I’ve spoken to a lot of people in your similar shoes. Let me sort of break it down a little bit in terms of what we do. I know that when you got out of jail there is probably a citation that you have in your possession, and you were probably told that you need to get a court date within 10 days and do several other things with respect to your driving privileges. Let me alleviate your anxiety right off the bat. We do everything for you. We will set the Court date for you to the extent that you had a valid license at the time that you were arrested. We can get you a temporary drivers permit and keep you driving for work. That should alleviate quite a bit of your anxiety. Um, we deal with this every day. We have the opportunity to review your case in the months ahead to do everything in our power to keep you from being convicted of the offense. At the outset, though, my goal is to keep you informed with respect to the process and what’s coming down the pipe so to speak. And also to let you know that as a DUI defense lawyer, because we have done this so often, we know exactly what to do, uh, how the situation operates, and exactly how we’re going to defend you depending on the facts of your case. A DUI charge here in Tampa or in Hillsborough County can be a complicated one. In order to get a temporary Driver’s Permit, you have to file some paperwork with the DMV over on 2814 East Hillsborough Avenue, and in order to get an appropriate court date within a timely fashion, you have to visit the Clerk’s Office located on 801 East Twiggs Street.
What I started out by saying is that we can do this for you. So immediately upon contacting our office, we’re in a position where we can assist you through this process, explain the process, and let you go about living your daily life. Our goal is to get you the best defense possible. Our goal is to keep you from being convicted of the offense to the extent that we can do that. But most of all our goal is to provide you the vest defense that we possibly can. I encourage you to call us. It’s 813-649-8690.
